Overview of Q2 2017

Published on July 11, 2017

As we are stepping into the third quarter, it is time we share the results of Q2, 2017 with all our friends online.

We have made every effort to deliver the product plan we’ve announced before – and we have accomplished a great deal of it. Many of the features that we listed as ‘soon to come’ are now released, and we have already gathered first feedback from those who managed to take them for a test drive.

You may have noticed that we have made some changes to the product plan down the line – and released a lot of unscheduled updates, while postponing other announced features. In some cases, releasing new functionality was blocked by the problems with the existing code. Some features were shifted in priority in response to your requests. We also dedicated some of our time to updating 2.0 functionality, to make 2.0 users happy.

Our Q2 updates:

Aligning Ning 3.0 and 2.0 functionality:

Paid Access is currently ready for beta testing. Many of you have requested Stripe integration, and this required extra work to be done.

Chats were released as promised. We have received a lot of feedback regarding this update, and we are now processing it.

JA Mood – Social Joomla Template from JoomlArt with full support for JomSocial is now available for FREE to Professional and SuperCharged plan users.

WHY EXCLUDE STANDARD PLAN MEMBERS?

Standard plan got major boost in our last update when the feature limitations were removed and were brought to the same level of Professional package. Standard plan users were also extended complimentary JA Builder Pro access worth $50. It would not be fair to JomSocial Professional members and JoomlArt team to offer complimentary access of premium products worth more than the JomSocial Standard plan price itself.

We encourage our Standard Plan members to upgrade to Professional plan to take maximum benefit of the offerings. There are more releases lined up for Professional users. For instance, we have a brand new JomSocial theme coming soon for Professional plan…

ATTENTION! A test profile for SSL is required!!!

Published on July 14, 2017

We have great news for you – our tech team is about to implement a new SSL-certificate feature for all Ning 3.0 networks with a *.ning.com domain. It’s all set and ready for live release but we need to make sure that we’ve considered all possible requirements for proper massive implementation. That’s why we are looking for a test network who wants to be the first one to try out this feature.

Here’s what we’re looking for in a network in order to have a complete full HD test and to avoid all possible issues that may appear in a real time situation:
1) it should be a network on 3.0 platform
2) it should have a *.ning.com domain or a custom domain with SSL certrificate
3) it should be a network created couple of months ago, preferably with a high-load platform and/or custom code on it
4) the members` quantity is not that particular, however, if you have 100+ members – that would be a plus

The test won’t take long – a couple of hours only and it will be done at a nighttime between 12 pm – 5 am PST. We guarantee that your network won’t be messed up and our developers will monitor it until SSL works perfectly fine on your network…
